INGREDIENTS
2 – 8 oz. tuna steaks
salt and pepper
chopped green onion for garnish
INGREDIENTS FOR GLAZE:
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
3 Tbsp. low sodium soy sauce
2 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. orange juice
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. grated ginger
1 Tbsp. chopped green onion
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1 In a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients for the sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes or until the glaze is thick enough to coat a spoon. Take pan off stove and set aside.
STEP 2 Drizzle some oil on a large skillet and heat to medium high heat. Salt and pepper both sides of the tuna, and sear for one minute per side. Then give the edges a quick sear and place on a cutting board.
STEP 3 Cut slices on the bias and arrange on a plate. Drizzle sauce over slices and serve.
